BOARD MEETING MINUTES 8/10/11

Call To Order:            The meeting started at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday August 10th, 2011

Present;          Jim V; Rich G; Steve V; Jim C; Linda; Andy; Carl, Sandy:

Absent:           Theresa R, Mannie; Mose T; Regina; Monica; Lisa; Tamara;

     The meeting started at 9:30 a.m.  Wednesday night August 10, 2011, we will have a mixer at “Mission Memorial” from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.   The West End Celebration will be held on August 27th and 28th.  Steve made sure that everyone had posters, and post cards.

     We did not have a Financial Report at the meeting  and several of the members said that we must have this on a regular basis are they cannot continue to be involved with the Chamber.  We did not have a financial report due to some computer problems.  Jim is going to make sure that a financial statement is sent out asap and we will approve the financial statement at the next meeting.

     Glenn mentioned that we need to survey the businesses and ask them what we can do to help them?  Businesses that get a new license will receive a year’s free membership to the Chamber, and everyone was in agreement with that decision.   Sandy is going to make sure that people that renew will receive a personal call from her, just to give the Chamber a personal touch.

     We have $6,000 in the Bank currently and we have a $1,000.00 to deposit.   We are not able to use Embassy Suits for Halloween this year, so they are looking at other places where the party can be held.  The date for the Halloween Party would be 10/29/11  and it will be for adults only.  They will be looking at  “The City Center”.

     Rich asked for a conceptual preliminary budget to be presented.  Everyone thinks that Jim V. is doing  great job,  we just asked that the meeting become more structured.    We will send out an email blast to see when would be a good time to hold our monthly meetings.  In the blast we will also be asking for volunteers to help with the West End Celebration that is coming up very soon.  Meeting was dismissed at 10:35 a.m.

Sincerely

Carl Kelleher
